How to prepare Arabic coffee

Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of cold water
  • 8 crushed cardamom pods
  • ½ cup of roasted and ground coffee beans

Preparation Method: Place the ingredients in a pot over medium heat until the mixture boils. Lower the heat and let the coffee simmer for 15-20 minutes. Strain the coffee before pouring it into a serving pot.


Arabic Coffee with Cardamom and Saffron

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons of ground Arabic coffee
  • 3 tablespoons of ground cardamom
  • ¼ teaspoon of saffron

Preparation Method: Put water in a pot over medium heat. Once it boils, lower the heat, add the coffee, and let it boil for five minutes. Remove the pot from the heat. Allow the coffee grounds to settle, then pour the liquid into another pot, add cardamom and saffron, and return to the heat, bringing it to a single boil. Pour the coffee into a serving pot, cover it immediately, and serve with dates.


Arabic Coffee with Rose Water

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups of water
  • 3 tablespoons of Arabic coffee
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cardamom
  • 6 cardamom pods
  • 1 teaspoon of rose water

Preparation Method: Place the water in a pot over medium heat until it boils, then add the coffee and let it boil for 10-12 minutes. Add the cardamom pods and let the coffee boil for another five minutes. Pour hot water into the serving pot and discard it to keep the pot warm, preventing the coffee from cooling when poured. Strain the coffee, pour it into the serving pot, add rose water, cover it immediately, and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.


Saudi Arabic Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 1 liter of water
  • 3 tablespoons of roasted and ground coffee
  • 3 tablespoons of coarse ground cardamom
  • 5 cloves

Preparation Method: Heat the water until it boils, then add the coffee and let it boil for 2-3 minutes. Pour hot water into the serving pot, then discard it, add the coffee, cardamom, and cloves, cover the pot, and let it sit for ten minutes before serving. Serve with dates. Ginger or saffron can be added instead of cloves.


Yemeni Coffee with Ginger

Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1 person

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 6 teaspoons of coffee
  • 4 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons of ground ginger

Preparation Method: Place all ingredients in a pot over medium heat until it boils, then remove the pot briefly. Once the bubbles subside, return the pot to the heat and boil the coffee again. Let it sit for a minute before serving to allow the grounds to settle. Traditional methods may replace coffee with coffee husks, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon can be added.


Barley Coffee

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of barley flour
  • ½ teaspoon of cardamom
  • ½ teaspoon of fresh ginger
  • ½ teaspoon of cloves

Preparation Method: Heat the water over medium heat until it boils, then add the barley and let it boil. Add the remaining ingredients, let the coffee boil for two minutes, then remove from heat and serve hot.


Traditional Emirati Coffee

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • ½ teaspoon of ground cardamom
  • Few strands of saffron
  • Sugar when serving
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons of unroasted white coffee

Preparation Method: Leave the boiling water in a pot over medium heat, add the coffee, and let it boil for a few minutes. Add ground cardamom and saffron strands while boiling. Remove the coffee from heat, pour it into a heat-retaining container, and serve with sugar and dates.


Saudi Coffee with Spices

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of coffee
  • 3 teaspoons of ground cardamom
  • 3 cups of water
  • ¼ teaspoon of saffron

Preparation Method: Place water in a medium-sized pot over medium heat. When the water boils, add the coffee and let it simmer for a few minutes. Add the ground cardamom and saffron while the coffee is boiling, allowing the ingredients to settle at the bottom of the pot. Remove the coffee from heat, pour it into a heat-retaining container, and serve hot with dates.


Arabic Coffee Cream

Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Serves: 4 people

Ingredients:

  • 150 grams of date molasses
  • 50 grams of concentrated Arabic coffee and sugar
  • 15 grams of starch and flour
  • 100 ml of milk
  • 1 cup of whipped cream
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Chocolate chips

Preparation Method: Mix sugar, egg yolks, and vanilla until the mixture is pale and creamy, then add starch and flour, continuing to stir until smooth. Combine Arabic coffee, date molasses, and milk, and bring to a boil. Pour half the mixture into the egg mixture, stirring until smooth. Return the mixture to high heat, stirring rapidly until it boils. Pour into a flat pan, cover with plastic wrap, and let it cool. Fold in whipped cream and pastry cream until light and fill the pan with date cream, garnishing with chocolate chips.
